The acting administration has no political will for investigating the tragedy of May 2. This was stated by OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE MP Serhiy Lovochkin in a commentary to the press regarding the parliament’s refusal to create an investigative committee into the issue.

“We believe that Odesa, its residents, and entire Ukraine deserve to learn the truth about the tragedy of May 2. We have submitted the proposal to create a special committee in the parliament. Anyway, this crime must be investigated by law enforcement agencies, not the parliament. They haven’t done it in five years. But we will continue insisting that the crime is solved, and those guilty of it are punished,” Lovochkin said.

The tragedy of May 2 occurred in Odesa in 2014, when about 40 people died in clashes between pro-Ukrainian and pro-Russian activists in the downtown and Kulykove Pole.
