The Opposition bloc will not vote for the law on reintegration of Donbas proposed by the coalition. MP Serhiy Lovochkin said this in the corridors of the Verkhovna Rada. The politician is sure that such a law should be coordinated in an international format, rather than hamper a peaceful settlement.

“We are categorically against the law on reintegration, which is proposed, because it will create additional obstacles in the negotiation process. We insist that any law on reintegration should be the result of negotiations and agreements in the Minsk and Normandy formats, or the result of negotiations between Russia and the United States, which now play a leading role in the peaceful settlement in the east of the country. We believe that the law on reintegration should implement peace agreements between the parties that are currently participating in the negotiations. It should not provoke and create problems on the way to a peaceful settlement,” Serhiy Lovochkin stated.

In addition, the deputy chairman of the Opposition bloc faction explained the reasons why their faction would not support the state budget adopted in the first reading.

“We also do not support the budget, because it is antisocial. We believe that the costs for the power unit and the administrative machine are too high. However, social spending is not enough, pensions and salaries should be large, support for the real sector and the regions – larger, as well as tax burden – smaller. We believe that the macroeconomic indicators are incorrectly calculated, and the budget contains huge funds that should be used to support people,” he stressed.

“As for the current budget, I have repeatedly said that the current budget will not be fulfilled, and the figures released following the results of November tell us that it is not being fulfilled by 17%. According to our calculations, by the middle of next month, the deficit, the cash gap can reach UAH 100 billion, and this, again, is a huge underpayment for all programs that have been laid down in this budget. Therefore, we believe that it is necessary to immediately correlate the budget of the current year, and after that to work on the next year’s budget, taking into account the increase in social standards of people and reducing the costs for the power unit and the administrative machine,” Serhiy Lovochkin added.
