The government is trying to deny the opposition the right to work effectively. Serhiy Lovochkin, Deputy Chair of the OPPOSITION BLOC parliamentary faction, said this answering journalists’ questions on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, December 2.

“Today, the coalition can agree neither on parliamentary committees, nor on ministerial posts. Moreover, the government now denies the opposition the right to work effectively through parliamentary committees. They are also trying to keep the opposition out of parliamentary leadership. Something like this has never happened before in the history of independent Ukraine. I believe that this is unacceptable,” the politician stressed.

According to him, the majority is still in the process of dividing government portfolios amongst themselves.

“Today we see strife within the coalition, and I am not sure if the parliamentary majority will be able to vote for committee appointments or for the coalition government on Tuesday. They conduct endless negotiations, and still cannot agree,” Serhiy Lovochkin summed up.
