Ukrainian parliament should pass all necessary motions to implement the peace plan within the framework of the Minsk agreements, otherwise it must be disbanded. This opinion was voiced by MP Serhiy Lovochkin.
“We demand from the Ukrainian parliament to pass all necessary motions to implement the peace plan. Otherwise, this Parliament is not needed, and we should re-elect it to ensure that the war-mongering parliament, the parliament that votes for the war, is replaced with the parliament of peace that will work for peace, development and reform,” Serhiy Lovochkin said.
According to him, it is very important Ukraine to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk agreements and demand the same from other parties. The politician stressed that there was no alternative to the Minsk process, and the only way to achieve peace was to follow the spirit and letter of the agreements that had been confirmed by UN Security Council Resolution.
“Today the most important stage has been passed - the fighting has stopped. And then the Ukrainian authorities and Ukrainian policy makers should make an effort to ensure that the conditions incorporated in the Minsk Accords are enshrined in the law and implemented by the executive branch.
There is a party of war in Ukraine. These are the forces, which live by the war, and who make money on the war, as cynical as it sounds. And it is these people, whom parties to the Minsk agreements must fight back. Because military rhetoric will sooner or later lead to military action, and we must no longer allow this,” Serhiy Lovochkin noted.
He also added that the fulfillment of the Minsk peace plan would allow to hold elections to local councils in a normal mode. “It will allow to establish a legitimate government in Donbas, it will give people an opportunity to vote and elect the government they will trust,” the politician said.
He noted that the OPPOSITION BLOC was ready to take part in these elections. “We flatly reject the possibility of postponement of these elections, because strict compliance with the Constitution is one of the most important government obligations,” the member of parliament concluded.
