MP Serhiy Lovochkin (OPPOSITION BLOC) called the government announcement about the future indexation of incomes of Ukrainians an opposition victory. According to him, the opposition will control how the authorities fulfill this opposition demand.

“We consider today's announcement of the government a victory of the opposition. I mean the immediate indexation of wages, pensions and other benefits for inflation, which was the OPPOSITION BLOC demand over the past six months,” Serhiy Lovochkin stressed.

However, the government should have made this decision in the spring, when people were hit by inflation, and the opposition registered a respective bill. “Now the task of the opposition is to verify that these promises not remain empty statements and campaign PR,” Serhiy Lovochkin noted.

"In general, the rain of promises says one thing - we are witnessing the start of a new election campaign. Instead of raising people’s incomes, creating jobs, implementing reforms, ensuring economic development and, most importantly, ending the war as soon as possible and implementing the Minsk agreements, the government appears to have started a PR campaign before the local elections,” Serhiy Lovochkin said.

“The current coalition of war cannot solve the national problems of this scale - ending the war and implementing the much needed reforms. The OPPOSITION BLOC has no illusions about the quality of economic policies of the current Cabinet and the coalition that created it. That is why we have already submitted more than 50 draft laws aimed at resolving social issues. If the authorities adopt them, the country will immediately feel change for the better,” Serhiy Lovochkin said.

"The opposition working together with people on the ground will push the authorities to make their promises a reality, not to leave them as empty words,” the people’s deputy added.
