The OPPOSITION BLOC sees Oleksandr Vilkul as the Verkhovna Rada Chairman. Serhiy Lovochkin, an OPPOSITION BLOC leader said this answering journalists’ questions on parliament sidelines following another meeting of the Preparatory Deputy Group on Wednesday, November 26.

“The Opposition Bloc has a consistent position - we would like to see Oleksandr Vilkul as the Parliament Speaker. We understand perfectly well that we do not have enough votes for this, but politically we shall insist on this. Everything else is up to the coalition. They have 300 votes, and so they need to agree and form the Verkhovna Rada Presidium, the Cabinet of Ministers and finally start solving people's problems,” the politician said.

According to him, there are differences among coalition members: some political forces want to elect the parliament chairman, his first deputy and deputy, while others want to form a coalition first and discuss Cabinet positions.

“But now none of this happens due to differences that continually arise and hinder the work of the coalition,” the politician said.

“We have nothing to do with them. We simply cannot and don’t want to take part in this. Our job is to protect the interests of our voters. This is what we are going to deal with,” Serhiy Lovochkin summed up.
