The Prosecutor General’s Office is to be led by highly educated and qualified lawyer. This was stated by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Serhiy Lovochkin in the lobby of the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday, May 11.

“The Prosecutor should be professional. It should be a young man, highly educated and a qualified lawyer who knows what to do with the Prosecutor’s Office,” Serhiy Lovochkin said.

According to him, the OPPOSITION BLOC will not support changes to the law on Prosecutor’s Office.

“The OPPOSITION BLOC faction has decided not to support amendments to the law on the Prosecutor, unprofessional lawyer and a man, unprepared for the work of the head of the procurators,” the MP said.

He also recalled that the question of appointment of Prosecutor General is the sole responsibility of the President and the parliamentary coalition.

“The President and the coalition are responsible for what is happening in the country. I emphasize that the law enabling Lutsenko to become a Prosecutor was voted by 200 people from the coalition. That is, they show that there is no the coalition. They don’t accept the economic laws. And this is now the main problem of government and Parliament,” Serhiy Lovochkin concluded.
