The OPPOSITION BLOC faction will seek reduction to 7% VAT rate for socially important food products. This was stated by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Serhiy Lovochkin in the lobby of the Parliament on Tuesday, 19 April.

“First of all, we insist on the amendments to the budget, which were registered by the deputies from the Opposition bloc. We require almost 100 billion to be directed on indexation of pensions and wages, to increase funding of health, education and regional development. The money is easy to find, since the budget was formed unfair and contains inaccurate macroeconomic indicators. We also offer 15 billion to reduce the cost of the state bureaucracy, the costs of the war, which, in our opinion, are not effective. This money should be directed primarily at solving the problems of people,” Serhiy Lovochkin emphasized.

According to him, the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada should include the draft laws, allowing change its policy towards the Ukrainian industry.

“We now need to focus on creating jobs and real wages. In addition, we require the reduction to 7% VAT rate for socially important products such as bread, flour, other food. We also insist the authorities to fulfil the whole complex of measures to implement the Minsk agreements. Another important demand of the faction is the need to adjust Pension reform, in particular, the growth of pension experience, because it really hurts the people,” the MP said.

“We will insist the draft laws submitted by deputies from the faction to be considered and adopted,” Serhiy Lovochkin concluded.
