Today the OPPOSITION BLOC is the top-ranked political force in seven oblasts. Serhiy Lovochkin, an OPPOSITION BLOC leader said this answering journalists’ questions on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada prior to the first meeting of the Preparatory Deputy Group on Wednesday, November 19.

“We conducted a poll, which showed that the Opposition Bloc is the most popular political force already in seven oblasts of Ukraine. This means that, according to sociological research, Odesa and Mykolayiv oblasts joined the five oblasts, where we won the elections - Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia oblasts. Besides, we are now balancing between the first and the second place in Kherson oblast. “So today we can talk about strong support of the OPPOSITION BLOC,” the politician stressed.

Serhiy Lovochkin also noted that in the new convocation of the parliament the OPPOSITION BLOC would seek to take charge of committees that would help monitor the government.

“We are not interested in resource-rich committees. We just need the control functions that would ensure our control over the government and protection of our voters’ interests. The pro-government political forces in the Parliament must fulfill two commitments: adopt a law on opposition and provide the opposition with control mechanisms. It is in the government interest, it is in the interests of the state and society. It is also a principled position of the Opposition Bloc,” Serhiy Lovochkin said.
