The main result of the work of the parliament in 2017 is the absence of a coalition. Such an opinion was expressed by MP from the Opposition bloc Serhiy Lovochkin while talking with journalists in the corridors of the Verkhovna Rada. The politician believes that the parliament should be re-elected.
“The Opposition bloc advocates the re-election of this Rada, for the main motive for its election was the philosophy of war. We believe that it is time to replace it by the philosophy of peace. The main task for the Verkhovna Rada of the future convocation is the achievement of peace and the subsequent revival of the country,” Serhiy Lovochkin stated.
The politician believes that the current convocation of the Verkhovna Rada should not wait for actions for the benefit of the country.
“The Parliament, which has no majority, cannot work effectively. Here, the majority arises occasionally, for some voting or depending on how the spectrum of interests develops. Therefore, unfortunately, I expect nothing from the parliament next year,” he said.
Serhiy Lovochkin recalled that the government for one year could not provide lists of 226 MPs who were members of the coalition.
“Therefore, it can be argued that the coalition does not really exist, so decisions are adopted the way they are accepted. Relations between the factions that should constitute a coalition, but in fact constitute a quasi-coalition, are permanent political bargaining and redistribution of spheres of influence. That is why we see ineffectiveness of both the agenda and the voting – including on personnel issues,” the politician said.
