On Tuesday, January 19 the OPPOSITION BLOC faction Сhairman Yuriy Boyko and MP Serhiy Lovochkin met with Foreign Policy Advisor to the German Federal Chancellor Christoph Heusgen and Diplomatic Advisor to the President of France Jacques Audibert, the press service of the party reports.

In particular, the members of parliament of Ukraine noted the need to achieve a lasting ceasefire and a political settlement of the Donbas conflict, reintegration of those territories in the Ukrainian political structure to begin the recovery process and discussed the optimal procedure of implementation of the Minsk agreements.

According to the press service, the OPPOSITION BLOC outlined the necessary contribution of the Ukrainian parliament to addressing the crisis, including the adoption of laws on elections and amnesty. Besides, the parties discussed possible vectors and mechanisms of realization of the Constitutional Reform in Ukraine.

According to Yuriy Boyko, the Minsk agreements are the only way to resolve the conflict in Donbas. The policy maker stressed that “the Ukrainian parliament now has to answer the questions that concern the society.”

“Our position: we need to pass all necessary laws to resolve the conflict in Donbas. Because all people want peace in Ukraine. That is why the Parliament should muster the political will and make the appropriate decision,” the politician said.

As noted, the OPPOSITION BLOC announced its readiness to take part in solving the crisis, in holding the elections in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and use all available means to participate in the reconstruction of Donbas to normalize the lives of people in areas affected by the armed conflict.
