The member of parliament assured that he was ready to give his testimony. Lovochkin said he had not received a summons for questioning. MP Serhiy Lovochkin (OPPOSITION BLOC) said that he believed the investigation into the murders of journalist Oles Buzyna and former MP Oleh Kalashnikov is futile.
“This investigation is a political farce, its purpose is not the establishment of the motives and murderers. I am not interested in taking part in this show directed by Popular Front chiefs. They play by their old script book of 2005: they summon for questioning through the media and fabricate cases against the opposition,” he said in his comments to Korrespondent.
Lovochkin added that he was ready to give his testimony. “I met Kalashnikov in the Parliament, but I have not been in contact with him since 2012. I also never had any financial relations with him of any kind, nor owed anything to him,” the MP noted.
According to Lovochkin, the government “is trying to hide from the international community and from the Ukrainian society the political motives of these murders.” “If the investigation is conducted by politically unbiased people, foreigners, for example, then gentlemen form the People's Front will be the ones, who will be summoned for questioning, and they will have to spend there a long time answering questions about the systematic and deliberate violations of human rights, corruption, negligence, false crime reports, criminal case falsification,” the MP said.
Lovochkin noted that he had not received the summons in compliance with the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Recall, member of parliament of the fifth convocation of the Verkhovna Rada from the Party of Regions Oleh Kalashnikov was murdered in Kiev on April 15. On the following day, April 16, journalist Oles Buzyna was murdered in the capital city. On May 25, MPs Klyuyev and Lovochkin were summoned to the Interior Ministry for questioning in the case of Kalashnikov’s murder. On May 28, the Interior Ministry reported that Lovochkin had not appeared for questioning in the investigation of the criminal proceedings into the murder of former MP Kalashnikov.
