Restoration of peace and production sector must become key tasks for the new post-election government. Without solving these issues, Ukraine risks losing its independence, OPPOSITION PLATFORM — FOR LIFE MP Serhiy Lovochkin believes.

“Modern Ukraine is a country devastated by war and pernicious politics of the previous political regime. Destroyed production sector has caused the ruining of the entire social infrastructure because production sector is the only source of high budget incomes. This is why peace and restoration of industrial manufacturing are equally important for our country,” Lovochkin believes.

Not a single airplane has been assembled on the three Ukrainian airplane plants over the past five years, the politician noted; not a single large-scale project has been implemented in the shipbuilding sector which is sweepingly transforming into ship-painting and ship-repairing sector.

Lovochkin reminded that only one of eight car-making factories, Eurocar in Zakarpattia, has sustainable operations. Compared to 2013, car production dropped by 7.6 times. Five out of six oil refineries have been halted for years. Numerous attempts to relaunch operations of the Odesa Port Plant have failed.

“The catastrophe is everywhere, from space rockets to bread baking. This is the outcome of the government’s efforts to destroy the production sector through closing sales markets. If the state continues implementing this agenda, Ukraine’s independence will be at stake. We will never recover from the war outcomes by being an agricultural addition to developed countries. The only way to prosperous future for Ukraine is to make the production sector development a priority,” Lovochkin said.
