Today's statement by the Interior Minister is yet another example of persecution of the Ukrainian opposition, the OPPOSITION BLOC press service reports. “The Interior Ministry is back to its old ways,” Serhiy Lovochkin, MP and Deputy Chair of the OPPOSITION BLOC parliamentary faction said in a statement.

“The country, unfortunately, went through this many times, when instead of real work, instead of reforms, the government resorted to politically motivated persecution. The government has failed to give the country peace, has ruined our economy, public administration, turned the life of Ukrainians into misery. People's trust in the current government disappears by the day. “Instead of working on reforms and fighting corruption, their agenda has been reduced to populism and harassment of opposition politicians under false pretexts,” he said.

“The current government is no different from the previous one: they started large-scale political persecution,” the member of parliament said. - “Law enforcement officers are given illegal orders to find at least some ‘compromising materials’ to slap together criminal cases against members of the opposition. The Interior Ministry has failed to solve a single high-profile murder or robbery, corruption is rampant, while the Interior Ministry lives a virtual life in a Facebook PR-land built on politically motivated and selective justice.”

“Gentlemen! With this approach you will finish as your ‘predecessors,’ and our country will never see European democracy and the rule of law,” the politician summed up.
