The Interior Ministry has become a body that serves the interests of the top leadership of the People's Front, and this has nothing to do either with democracy or with the rule of law. Serhiy Lovochkin, a member of the parliamentary faction of the Opposition Bloc said this according to the party press service.

“It is not in my rules to respond to lies and provocations, but now I consider it necessary to clarify something for the head of the Interior Ministry. I have repeatedly stated that Interior Ministry leadership are engaged in senseless Facebook PR instead of investigating many serious crimes, including political killings in Ukraine, searching for their paymasters and hitmen. I say senseless, because, despite the boundless populism, political provocations and lies, the approval rating of their ‘Front’ approaches zero,” Lovochkin said.

“In what other country in the world would the Premier would keep his job after procuring equipment for his subordinates through the company of his relatives at an inflated price, or political persecution of his opponent’s business, or the allegations of putting an assassination contract out on his political rival? Is it possible in a European Ukraine?” - Serhiy Lovochkin wondered.

“Why has the PGO not served the Minister and his accomplices notices of suspicion based on investigative journalism reports? Who is hiding behind the ministerial chair, which, as it turns out, is wider than that of any member of parliament? I have repeatedly confirmed my readiness to use all means available to me to help investigate the political murder of MP Oleh Kalashnikov, with whom I have never had any financial relations, and whom I have not seen since 2012,” the politician added.

“The head of the Interior Ministry from the People's Front uses his position not for the investigation of the high profile murder of Oleh Kalashnikov, but for Facebook PR and political attacks on his opponents by calling them for questioning through the media. I have never hid and am not hiding now from any investigation. I have nothing to hide either; I have not received any subpoenas in accordance with the established procedure. The call in for questioning through Facebook has not yet been introduced in the Code of Criminal Procedure,” Lovochkin said.

“I declare that this is not an investigation but a farce. I am convinced that the time, when Interior Ministry chiefs can hide in their high offices, is running out, and soon the time will come when they will have to answer for their actions before the law,” the MP said.
