MP Serhiy Lovochkin (OPPOSITION BLOC) claims that he has been offered to sell the Inter TV channel. This was stated in his article for Politico, the Opposition bloc press service reports.

“I received insistent demands to sell my television station at ‘fire-sale prices’. Control over Inter and its multimillion audience across the country will give those who are now in power a tool to control the public debate. And it will very conveniently spare them of annoying criticism,” the MP writes.

Lovochkin believes the attack on Inter TV channel is an attack on freedom of speech in Ukraine.

“What preceded the attack on the TV station and what followed it speaks volumes about the state of freedom of speech in Ukraine today, just as the attack itself. The Minister of Internal Affairs, whose friends’ TV crew was one of the first ones at the fire scene, had publicly declared that I belonged in jail,” the MP said.

“We may have grown used to corrupt politicians. Violence and chaos may be the dispiriting features of our “new normal.” But we will not be muzzled without a fight,” the oligarch said.
