OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE has proposed its parliamentary opposition colleagues to introduce amendments to parliamentary procedures that provide for drafts to be put on agenda based on faction quotas. This was stated by MP Serhiy Lovochkin.

“We are talking about considering bills based on faction size priority. The OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE faction is second largest in the parliament, and we insist that several our drafts are considered daily,” the politician said.

According to him, it will make the parliament more efficient and more democratic at the same time.

“Currently, we usually consider draft bills submitted by mono-majority. Now we insist on discussing our drafts as well. They include bills on better social welfare programs, decreasing wage arrears, economic development issues, i.e. the bills that are of highest priority but are not put on the agenda. The same is true about the bills on peace,” Lovochkin said.

As reported, Verkhovna Rada considered 126 draft bills by Sluha Narodu party and only 13 bills submitted by other factions in the first 100 days of its convocation.
