The government has failed to do its job, its interaction with the parliament is ineffective and it is unable to draft a quality tax reform - the proposed documents have nothing to do with a real reform of this sector. MP Serhiy Lovochkin (OPPOSITION BLOC) said this on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday, November 26.
He also noted that the OPPOSITION BLOC had no plans to join a new coalition in the current parliament.
According to the politician, the government should give an account for their work.
“Our position is very simple: the Cabinet of Ministers failed to do their job. And I would like to see who in the Parliament can afford to give a vote in support of the government, given this economic and political situation,” Serhiy Lovochkin said.
According to the member of parliament, the government’s interaction with the Verkhovna Rada is ineffective.
“We still do not know what draft budget the government will submit to the parliament, despite the fact that under the law we should have already seen the budget resolution, and the draft budget was supposed to have already been provided to committees. The fact that this has not happen, proves us once again that all decisions in the budgetary and economic spheres are made in an opaque manner, and that the government is ineffective in its interaction with the coalition,” the member of parliament added.
He also emphasized that the proposed draft tax reform has nothing to do with a real reform of this sector.
“We have analyzed the two draft laws on tax reform, and we cannot support them, because they do not solve business problems. They do not solve the problem of reducing the tax burden on entrepreneurs. They do not simplify the tax system in the country. They are populist bills that have nothing to do with a real tax reform that Ukraine needs,” Serhiy Lovochkin said.
Commenting on statements made by certain coalition MPs, the politician also noted that the OPPOSITION BLOC had no plans to join a new coalition in the current parliament. “Members of the coalition bear responsibility for the destruction of the economy, rising unemployment, predatory utility tariffs and for making Ukraine the poorest country in Europe,” Lovochkin said.
According to him, the OPPOSITION BLOC still awaits the inclusion of the law on decentralization in the parliament agenda.
“We expect the inclusion of the law on decentralization in the parliament agenda, since decentralization is the path to peace in Donbas and the implementation of the Minsk agreements by Ukraine,” the MP said.
