National Security, Defense, and Intelligence Committee has ruled to recommend the Verkhovna Rada to call off the drill manual for Ukraine’s Armed Forces. This was announced by committee member, OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE MP Serhiy Lovochkin.

“National Security, Defense, and Intelligence Committee made a historic decision today to call off the obsolete drill manual for the Armed Forces. All those who had served in the army know what it is. The manual is an old document, a rudimentary of the Soviet system. The committee voted today to recommend the parliament to call off the drill manual for the Armed Forces,” the MP said.

As reported, Ukraine’s Armed Forces drill manual was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of on March 24, 1999. It was based on provisions of the drill charter for the USSR Armed Forces adopted in 1975. The manual prescribes combat techniques and movement with and without weapons; ordering military units on foot and on board; rendering a salute and conducting inspection parades; positioning and removing the Colors; duties of military personnel before and in formation, and requirements for their drill training.
