The budget-2020 bill drafted by the government provides for increased allowances for the state apparatus but provides no explanations on how the economy will grow.

For that reason, OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE has prepared an alternative draft of the state budget for the next year, providing additional 280bln hryvnia for economy development and social assistance to citizens, OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE MP Serhiy Lovochkin told reporters in the Verkhovna Rada.

“OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE parliamentary faction has been stating since day one that the government-drafted budget is not OK and has offered an alternative draft bill. The government’s bill provides no explanation on how the economy will grow or how salaries and pensions will grow, but at the same time it again increases the expenses on the state apparatus. We cannot accept that,” Lovochkin said.

The politician stressed that the draft budget-2020 bill by OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE provides for a decrease in the state apparatus expenses by 86bln hryvnia.

“We propose to allocate this sum for social allowances,” the MP said.
