The international experience of stories of success indicates that the economic growth and accumulation of economic potential must be ranked as a national idea the implementation of which requires several main components: responsible political leadership, national consensus on a set of reforms and tools for their achievement and, as a result, continuity in relevant policies.
In the long term, the country faces the task of narrowing the development gap, achieving sustainable growth that will allow the country to withdraw from the trap of revenues below average and ensure the solution of social issues at least at the level close to the new EU members. Solving this problem requires answers to many questions.
New project of NOSEP analyzes these questions. The first chapter of the project - “Leap from “the third world to the first one”: stories of success from the past or path to the future?” - is dedicated to the analysis of international experience of economic convergence and overcoming the "low income trap".
