The statement of Avakov is lies and an attempt to pull the opposition into a new political farce, Lovochkin said. The member of parliament sharply responded to the version of the murder of PoR member Kalashnikov voiced by the Interior Minister.

MP Serhiy Lovochkin (OPPOSITION BLOC) blamed MPs and government officials from the Popular Front party for corruption, lies and populism in a statement published on the OPPOSITION BLOC website.

“Some MPs and senior government officials from the People's Front are mired in corruption, lies and populism. They have exhausted the trust of people. So they seek to revive their approval ratings through attacks on their opponents and uncontrolled media,” he said commenting on the version of the murder of PoR member Kalashnikov voiced by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov in an interview with LigaBiznesInform.

In particular, Avakov said that during the investigation of Kalashnikov’s murder there was a need to question MP Serhiy Lovochkin and MP Serhiy Klyuyev.

“The investigation established that the victim in his conversations with his loved ones, complained that he had had personal enmity towards Lovochkin and Klyuyev. He repeatedly said that he was not getting paid for organizing political rallies, and that Lovochkin and Klyuyev had owed him large sums of money. Now this version is considered one of the principal ones in this murder case,” the Minister said.

In response Lovochkin said that “Avakov’s statements are lies.”

“I never had any negotiations with Oleh Kalashnikov, much less organized any events with his participation. Moreover, I have not kept contacts with him. Avakov’s statement about the opposite is lies and an attempt to pull the opposition into a new political farce staged by the Interior Ministry leadership on orders of the People's Front bosses,” Lovochkin said.

Recall, MP of the fifth convocation of the Verkhovna Rada from the Party of Regions Oleh Kalashnikov was murdered in Kyiv on April 15.
