MP from the Opposition bloc, Serhiy Lovochkin, said this during a meeting with journalists in the corridors of the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, November 17.

He noted that the current parliamentary session does not differ from the previous one. “Nothing has been done to prove that there is a majority in the parliament. It does not exist. Nothing is done to make people’s lives better. Nothing is done to ensure peace in the East of Ukraine. We are completely dissatisfied with the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada. We insist the power to finally develop concrete steps to ensure that Ukraine gets peace in the East of the country. The agenda of the Verkhovna Rada should be formed for it,” the opposition leader said.

Serhiy Lovochkin stressed that the parliament should deal with economic issues. “The development of the economy, the stimulation of basic industries should be on the agenda. But this does not exist on the agenda, as well as in the budget. The budget does not stimulate the creation of work places, the budget supports tariff genocide. Thus, people will live worse, and the country will continue fighting. This is a disaster,” the politician noted.

Commenting on the Electoral Code, the MP noted that the Opposition bloc had prepared its own amendments to it. “We will vote for the Electoral Code in Ukraine, because, firstly, electoral legislation must comply with the Constitution. Secondly, it is necessary to reduce the administrative resource and the influence of the power on the people’s will. Thirdly, we must have transparent election procedures, because opaque election procedures lead to the fact that the power does not consist of those whom people actually choose,” Serhiy Lovochkin emphasized.
