The State Budget Bill for 2019 must not be adopted in its current draft. This was stated by OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE MP Serhiy Lovochkin. He said acting government has underrated nflation on purpose to hide UAH 100 billion.

“We are not satisfied with the proposed budget, since it should be based on completely different parameters,” Lovochkin stated. “Inflation is artificially underrated, and this will create the reserves that the government spends on itself.”

“Macro indicators should be leveled. This will provide for additional UAH 100 billion in the budget, at least. This money should be spent on education, science, healthcare, and to support the real sector of the economy,” the politician added.

The MP said the subsidies for utility bills are the first to be revised in the draft State Budget, and they should be significantly increased.

“In the future, the current rate policy of the authorities should be completely revised,” Lovochkin says.

“Current rates are unacceptable. They should be halved,” the politician concluded.

As reported, on Oct. 18, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the draft State Budget Bill 2019 in the first reading. On Nov. 14, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft State Budget in the second reading.
